Associate Professional Counselor
Precious Dixon

As an Associate Professional Counselor, I am dedicated to assisting individuals, couples, and families to navigate life’s challenges while striving towards a healthy mental and emotional well-being. With 15 years of experience in the field, I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Relationship issues, and more, providing a compassionate and evidence-based approach tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Most of my therapeutic strategies and models used stemmed from my educational background, serving clients in the field, as well as personal life experiences. Being from Monrovia, Liberia (West Africa), my experiences growing up and having to overcome a 10-year war have strengthened me and given me insight to allow me to deeply empathize and have compassion for my clients' unique situations.
My therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe in empowering individuals to develop healthy coping strategies and gain deeper self-awareness to achieve meaningful and long-lasting positive change. In addition, for the relationship of the clients to improve in a healthier manner, I integrate the Family Systems model to help each person connect from their individual self into the dynamics of the family.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural State University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also have achieved a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. My passion lies in guiding clients toward personal growth, healing, and a greater sense of fulfillment in their lives. In addition, I believe that life is a journey, and therefore, clients are on a journey to understand the whole self.
If you are looking for a supportive, compassionate, and skilled therapist to walk with you on your journey, I would be honored to help.
