Cullen P. Hardy, Psy.D. (Founder, CEO)

Dr. Hardy began his journey in the mental health field like many others. He has a deep desire to help those in need and a firm commitment to doing it the right way. After working for many years in community mental health centers, Dr. Hardy saw many holes in the system and knew something had to change. Sometimes the old adage, “if you want to make a change, sometimes you have to do it yourself” rings true. He quickly began his journey of changing the mental health treatment landscape in his community.

In 2017, Dr. Hardy began to formulate a plan. He worked on an idea for a clinic that could finally give clients the individual attention, respect, innovative treatment and non-judgmental care they deserve while also being an amazing, fun and fulfilling place for the staff clinicians to work. These seem like lofty goals but Dr. Hardy came up with a blueprint that would fill many of the glaring holes currently present in mental health centers across the country.

Opening the first clinic in 2018, Dr. Hardy has spread throughout his community, opening multiple clinics throughout the next few years. His attention to detail, ability to adapt quickly to any changes in the mental health field and his focus on hiring clinicians who are leaders in their own right facilitated the rapid growth seen with Nora Mental Health. With highly-trained, motivated, compassionate, deeply devoted and all-around fun clinicians (Dr. Hardy likes to say that the Nora family is the best around!) as a part of their team, Nora Mental Health has become a leader in the community.

He reminds anyone who asks about the growth Nora has experienced that if it were not for the amazing staff, Nora would not have come this far. The creative, compassionate, and forward-thinking clinicians and administrative staff has allowed Nora to meet the ever-expanding mental health needs throughout the region. “We would be nothing if it weren’t for our team members and we are so grateful to be a family working together to make a difference,” Dr. Hardy always says. When we help one another, we all win.

As his work goes national with Nora Mental Health franchises, Dr. Hardy is more committed than ever to pass along the vision to others and to guide those seeking to build a profitable, sustainable business. All the while, a major positive impact will be felt throughout any region with a Nora Mental Health Clinic. The ability to offer the same high quality mental health services from clinicians who LOVE what they do to clients across the country is a dream come true. Because when people get better, communities grow strong, and we all prosper.

Dr. Hardy’s passion for his work springs from his education, training and a strong desire to help those who struggle, as we all do from time to time. With over 16 years of sobriety, Dr. Hardy brings a unique perspective that allows him to work with clients both as a trained clinician and as someone who has personally experienced what his clients are going through. His no-nonsense, direct, but caring approach ensures that his clients will receive the treatment that leads to a life-time of recovery.

Dr. Cullen Hardy trained three years at a substance abuse clinic working with clients of diverse backgrounds. He gained invaluable experience working in that area which had one of the highest incidence of substance abuse in New England. He also trained in community mental health centers in New England as well as in South Bend. In addition, Dr. Hardy has been trained in multiple evidence based practices such as Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

He received his undergraduate degree (’09, Anthropology) from the University of Notre Dame, his master’s degree (MS in Clinical Psychology) from Antioch University New England and his doctoral degree (PsyD in Clinical Psychology) from Antioch University New England.
